More on the JC Lead The JC Lead was built in the late 1950s to service the newly built Manchester Industrial Area. It was named the JC Lead as it branched off from the JB Lead - as a "sub-spur". The JC Lead travelled down an alley and crossed the busy 58th Avenue. I can't tell if the lead had crossing flashers there, but I would guess that that might have been the case. The JC Lead was built along with the JD Lead in the late 1950s, to help open up more of the area that the JA and JB Leads already served The only way to access the JB, JC, and JD Leads were via the JA Lead.
Today the JC Lead serves no customers, and most of its original trackage has been completely removed (it was the only lead out of the four of the Manchester Leads to be removed before the 21st century). The JC Lead is the the least important lead out of the JA/JB/JC/JD Leads, as its only purpose now is to let trains access the JD Lead, where there is one of two remaining customers.
